Google’s New Plan to Help Newspapers Charge for Online Content Could be a Boon for Website Owners

Your Internet marketing plan may get a boost, now that Google, the Internet’s largest search engine provider, is rolling out a plan for newspaper to make money through the sale of online content, according to a leading Manhattan search engine optimization firm.

Peter Crisafi, Vice President of dzine it, Inc., a New York website development firm that specializes in organic search engine optimization (SEO) services and Internet marketing plans for clients across the globe, says that Google’s proposed system of micropayments for newspapers looking to charge users for content, can benefit businesses who have search engine friendly websites and an ongoing Internet marketing campaign.

“Although we don’t really know how Google’s new plan will benefit website owners who already take advantage of Google’s various tools,” says Crisafi. “There is no doubt that this new plan that Google has hatched will only make the powerhouse search engine provider even stronger.”

The new proposal was revealed in a document that the company sent to the Newspaper Association of America, according to Crisafi, in response to that organization’s request for paid-content proposals from major technology companies. The so-called “micropayment” system that Google has proposed would be an extension of Google checkout, which was unveiled in 1996 as a would-be competitor to PayPal, the online leader in payment processing and service.

“Regardless of whether this new proposal actually comes to fruition, the news itself is very telling,” says Crisafi. “The mere fact that the newspaper industry is turning to technological leaders for help sends a strong message to any business owner – the power of the Internet cannot be ignored and the number one source for gathering information these days is the World Wide Web.”

Because of this, Crisafi says that now, more than ever, a quality online marketing plan and organic SEO upgrade is essential to anyone who does business online.
